Abstract

756,113. Milling. SCHIESS AKT..GES. Aug. 10, 1954 [Aug. 11, 1953], No. 23154/64. Class 83 (3). An attachment for a boring and milling machine comprises a disc milling cutter 9 to be driven by the spindle 4 in the machine head 16, and a formed milling cutter 10 mounted with its axis in the plane passing through the centre of the cutter 9. The attachment consists of an arm 1 carrying an outboard support 3 for the axially adjustable spindle 4 and a slide 2 carrying two dovetail cutters 10. The cutters 10 are rotated by a motor 13 and are adjusted axially by nuts 11. The machine column 14 is traversed along the work, e.g. a rotor 5 supported between a centre 6 and an axially-adjustable and indexable centre to cut a slot 17, 18, Fig. 3.
