A cutter comprises a slotted housing 1 for exchangeable cutting - elements 15 ... 17 which together form a cylindrical shape and the cutting- edges 19 or 81 of which form a hollow shape towards the work, which is mounted on a rotating arbor. The cutting - elements are held in position and centred by means of a tapered screw - threaded adapter 10 provided with an exchangeable centring- ring 14 on which the outer ends of the cutting-edges rest, the ring serving to guide the work and hold it in position during machining. Openings 12 are provided in the housing for the removal of cuttings.
