751,038. Attaching thread to bobbins and winding transfer tails. ALGEMENE KUNSTZIJDE UNIE N.V. April 2, 1954 [Aug. 20, 1953], No. 9811/54. Classes 120 (2) and 120 (3). In attaching continuously supplied thread to a bobbin in a ring twisting machine, the bobbin 20 is provided, slightly above its lower end with a flange 21 having a slit 24 therein and the thread is conducted from the normal traveller 36 to the said slit then through a slot 31 in a sleeve 30 enveloping a hub portion 26 of the bobbin below the flange and hence through a cutting device 14 to a temporary thread collecting device 13. On rotation of the bobbin, the thread between the bobbn and the temporary collecting device is severed automatically, the main thread portion starts to wind on the bobbin proper and the severed end of thread is wound on the hub portion of the bobbin to form a transfer tail.
