Abstract

747,295. Bore gauges. HOOG, H. March 25, 1954 [May 11, 1953], No. 8766/54. Class 106(2). Each end of a handle 1 has recesses in which are mounted for sliding movement a jaw 7 of T- shape co-operating with a jaw 8 of L-shape, the jaws being adjustable relatively to each other by manual operation of a rotatable member 4<SP>1</SP> engaging both jaws simultaneously and adapted to be locked in adjusted position. A cover-plate 2 detachably mounted on the handle carries a rotatable disc 41 with two pins 5<SP>1</SP> engaging grooves 6 in the jaws. To lock the jaws in set position a screw is provided to press the jaws together. The pins 5<SP>1</SP> may be replaced by projections in the plane of the disc engaging recesses in the jaws which include arcuate portions. In a modification the jaws are provided with rack teeth and the disc comprises a toothed wheel engaging both racks and operable by a knurled head.
