A device for degasing tanks on cargo ships or similar store places, comprises an injector 5 which draws air from the atmosphere and is operated by some pressurized fluid, such as steam, supplied through a pipe 7. The injector is inserted in an opening 4 in a tank 1 and the gases therein are driven out through another cargo opening, or manhole (not shown).
