A personal sanitary convenience for females comprises a body-engaging suspensory portion 4 which provides a watertight enclosure over the crotch and has an outlet communicating with an inlet opening at the upper end of a urine receptacle 1 which has a valve-controlled outlet 3 at its lower end, and which is divided into an inlet chamber 24 and a collecting chamber 25 by a partition 26 serving as a oneway valve. The suspensory part 4 and the receptalce 1 are made of plastic or other waterproof material, the receptacle preferably being transparent, a flange 6 on the part 4 is welded or adhesively secured to the receptacle 1, and the opening is maintained by a removable elliptical split ring 18. The suspensory part 4 comprises front and rear aprons 8, 9 with pressstuds 16 for connection to front and rear pairs of brace straps which are secured by press-studs to a waist-belt of adjustable length. The partition 26 comprises a pair of sheets secured to each other and to the walls of the receptacle 1 so as to leave openings 30. The receptacle 1 has a strap 32 for securing it to the leg of the wearer.
