[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 7, 1936.] [Class 141] A diaper or like sanitary device comprises a waterproof foundation sheet 4 having mounted thereon a removable absorbent pad 2, and an elastic flange 13 extending adjacent the edge of the pad 2, and formed of a depth sufficient to prevent the pad from contacting with the body of the wearer. The sheet 4 is provided with an extension 12 which is supported by a wire frame 15 composed of two side bars 15<a>, connected by transverse bars 15b. The extension 12 is provided with side walls 17 and flaps 21 so as to form a trough. The part 18 of the trough which is disposed between the wearer's legs may be made narrower than the remaining parts. The diaper is supported on the wearer by means of a device which comprises a waistband 24, Fig. 3, provided with a girdle 25 adapted to cover the trough, and with shoulder bands 26, a loop 27 on the bands 26 being adapted to pass through a loop 30 on the diaper, and through an opening 28 in the girdle 25 before being connected with a button 29. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a diaper consisting of a waterproof foundation sheet, and a removable absorbent pad which is prevented from contacting with the wearer's body by means of an inflatable elastic flange provided at the edge of the foundation sheet. The foundation sheet is formed with an extension which is provided with a band to engage a waistband provided at the other end of the foundation sheet for supporting the diaper on the wearer. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
