Abstract

741,101. Reservoir pens. FERBER CORPORATION. March 31, 1953, No. 8937/53. Class 146(3) A ball-point pen comprises a barrel 11a of transparent or translucent materialwhich has a triangular or hexagonal crosssection, an ink chamber 17a, a rear plug 23a fitted within the chamber and having an air vent 27a therein, and writing tip 15a carrying a ball 22a and provided with reduced shank 16a fitting within the chamber. A pocket clip 34 slidably engages the barrel. A protector cap of the kind having a slotted shank, or a plastic cap having an internal annular rib, may be provided. In a modification, the rear end of the chamber 17a is enlarged to receive a rear plug comprising a dome-shaped member with an incurved inner end and an air vent in the outer end. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 573,747 and 637,331.
