Abstract

733,208. Cycle windscreens. APEX INFLATOR CO., Ltd. Nov. 10, 1953 [Dec. 11, 1952], No. 31368/52. Class 136(1). [Also in Group X] A mounting for a cycle or other vehicle windscreen comprises a U-shaped post a, b adapted to be secured to the handle bar d, or other part of the vehicle and having formed on it a series of notches e and a pair of clamps f slidable on the post, each clamp being adapted to be secured to the windscreen k and to engage a notch or notches on the post. Two posts are provided which are secured to the handle bar d by clips c. As shown in Fig. 3, each clamp consists of a part f having a hole for the passage of the limb b of the post and attached to the windscreen k by a screw j. A dished washer h is provided to engage the notches e and is clamped in adjusted position by a nut g on the screw threaded end of the clamp f. Alternatively, as shown in Fig. 4, the clamping piece f may be formed with a transverse slot in which a cam n is operable by a finger piece o to exert pressure on a pawl p which engages a notch e in the post.
