Abstract

724,537. Transformers and inductances. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Jan. 9, 1953, No. 717/53. Class 38 (2). An electrical transformer comprises a pair of core members 18, 19 formed from tape of a magnetic material, one primary winding α simultaneously encircling both core members 18, 19 and secondary windings #, γ simultaneously encircling both core members; the two core members being reversed relatively to one another between the primary and secondary windings. Direct current is supplied to winding γ so that if an alternating current of frequency f is fed to the primary winding α an alternating current of. frequency 2f may be taken from the secondary winding # since the fluxes due to the primary winding which link the secondary winding # are in opposition to one another. Alternatively the secondary windings may be replaced by a single winding. Several such transformers may be combined, all being energized by a single primary winding.
