Abstract
871,934. Transformers. JENKINSON, W. July 7, 1958 [July 8, 1957], No. 21749/58. Class 38 (2). A transformer for arc-welding apparatus with its secondary winding 10 spaced from its primary winding 5, both wound on a core of wound grain oriented magnetic material, has auxiliary primary windings 7, 8, 9 differently spaced relatively to the two windings, together with a switch, Fig. 2 (not shown), so that by connecting a different auxiliary winding in series with the main primary winding the flux leakage of the transformer may be varied. Each auxiliary winding has the same number of turns so that the turns ratio is not varied. The first auxiliary winding 7 is wound over the primary winding and the windings 8, 9 are placed between the primary and secondary windings 5, 10 and spaced from them by insulating spacers 11.
