718,573. Electrodeposition of gold and gold alloys. SPRETER, V., and MERMILLOD, J. Sept. 23, 1952, [April 28, 1952.] No. 23795/52. Class 41. A process for the electrodeposition of gold or gold alloys, comprises making the article to be plated the cathode in a bath containing an aqueous solution of an alkali metal aurocyanide and nitro-guanidine or nitro-urea. The nitro compound may be in a concentration of 5 to 10 grams per litre. The bath may also contain potassium cuprocyanide, potassium cyanide, potassium ortho-phosphate, and potassium carbonate.
