Class 100 (4) A rest for the type-levers 1 of a typewriter comprises an elastic or resilient pad 7 secured in a two-part holder 8 so that one edge of the pad projects and is engaged by the type levers on their return from an impression stroke and rebounding is avoided. The holder 8 is attached to the machine at each end and is arranged at an acute angle to the horizontal.
