Abstract

878,225. Cash registers. GROSS, H., and GROSS, D. Feb. 4, 1958 [March 12, 1957], No. 8099/57. Class 106 (1). A cash register has a detail strip 2 which is fed in each operation, in one direction only, from a printing position p to a viewing position v, these positions being separated by a distance not more than two and a half times the height of the characters printed. As shown, the viewing position lies along one surface 13 of the printing platen which makes an acute angle with the operative surface. The latter has a resilient insert 12 adjacent to the type from which printing is effected. The acute angle of the platen round which the strip is fed may be rounded as at 17.
