Abstract

713,607. Printing processes. MARKEM MACHINE CO. Sept. 2, 1952, No. 22067/52. Class 100 (2) Printing on curved surfaces.-In a machine for printing on cylindrical articles 3 having a printing member 2 on a rotary printing cylinder I on which the article rests in printing position, the article is held by a pair of rollers 7, 8, the axis of the former being fixed in position, whilst the axis of the lattter is yieldingly pressed between the article 3 being printed and the article 3 next to be printed. After printing the article is discharged beneath the fixed roller 7 and over a flat 18 provided on the cylinder 1. After discharge of the printed article the hold down device 8 is fitted by a cam-operated lever 17 so as to al'ow the next article to roll into printing position from a shoot 19. The printing member 2 is inked by an inking roll 6. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 601,245.
