Abstract

263,805. ThÚvoz, F. Dec. 22, 1925, [Convention date]. Rotary intaglio machines; drying-apparatus; set-off, preventing.-In multicolour intaglio printing by means of successive units comprising an engraved cylinder g and a coacting impression cylinder f, each unit is provided with independent positioning-devices for the sheets, the sheets being conveyed from one unit to the next by horizontally reciprocating endless-band conveyors i, k and an endless band n, which, by travelling in a steep path, raises the sheets to the feed table E of the next unit. To dry the impressions, jets of air m, o, q are directed against the sheets while on the conveyors. The jets q also serve to retain the sheets on the band n, tapes being provided in addition if required. Each sheet is fed from a stack A down a feed table e to grippers on the cylinder f, and is transferred to a cylinder h, from which it falls on to the conveyor i when in a position immediately below the cylinder h. The conveyer i then moves to the left to feed the sheet into grippers j, and, after the conveyer moves to the right, the sheet is directed downwardly on to the conveyer k by gravity or by pivotal movement of the grippers. In a similar manner, the conveyer k transfers the sheet to the band n.
