Abstract
709,827. Cathode-ray tubes. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. (Lorenz Akt.-Ges. C.). Sept. 11, 1951, No. 21366/51. Class 39(1) An electromagnetic deflection system for a cathode-ray tube comprises a set of four line deflection coils 4, 5, 6, 7, and four frame deflection coils 8, 9, 10, 11 wound as segments of toroids about a common ferromagnetic yoke, and connected as pairs of series connected coils in parallel as shown in figure 2. To correct for capacity unbalance between the pairs. of coils 4, 7 and 5, 6 of the line deflection system a trimmer condenser 17 is inserted as shown in Fig. 3. To suppress the circulating current i set up due to the coils 5, 6 being inductively unbalanced, there is inserted a condenser 18 of negligible impedance to line frequency currents, but of high impedence to frame frequency currents. The current i arises as a result of the magnetic flux of the frame coils threading the line coils.
