Abstract

705,153. Marking inks. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 24, 1951 [April 24, 1950], No 10007/50. Class 146(3) A marking ink consists of 5 to 11.5 parts of chlorinated rubber, with or without a minor amount of a hydrocarbon-soluble gum or resin, 4 to 7.7 parts of chlorinated paraffin wax, and 1.5 to 30 parts of a colour pigment, with or without an inorganic colour diluent, the remainder up to 100 parts being a mutual solvent for the rubber and the wax, the parts being given by weight. Solvents specified are tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol, toluene, xylene, butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, trichlorethylene, ethylen dichloride and mixtures of tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol with any of the other specified solvents. Colour diluents specified are titania, china clay and talc. Pigments specified are carbon black. zinc oxide, yellow and red azo pigments, copper phthalocyanide and chlorinated copper phthalocyanine.
