700,879. Wind-motors ; gas turbine plant; centrifugal fans. ANDREAU, J. E. June 8, 1951 [June 9, 1950], No. 13679/51. [Classes 110 (1) and 110 (3)] A wind-motor rotor comprises at least one hollow blade 1 for the radially outward flow of a fluid therethrough and a discharge nozzle for the fluid, the nozzle comprising a streamlined ogival-shaped body of revolution 6 extending transversely to the radial direction, leading edge 6a having the same curvature as the leading edge 1a of the blade 1, and the maximum diameter of the body occurring at its rear edge. The cross-sectional area of the outlet orifice is preferably substantially equal to that of the cavity C. Guide vanes 7 are provided. The aerofoil sections of the blade 1 have the maximum thickness located rearward of the middle of the chord. The rotor is used in a wind-motor similar to that described in Specification 665,934.
