Abstract
699,037. Plate heat-exchangers. ZEUTHEN, C., ZEUTHEN, R., and LARSEN, M., [trading as SILKEBORG MASKINFABRIK ZEUTHEN & LARSEN.] April 13, 1951 [April 17, 1950], No. 8630/51. Class 64 (iii) In a plate heatexchanger in which the heat-exchanging fluids flow between thin plates 1 spaced apart by gaskets, and in which each plate is provided with a plurality of corrugations extending transversely to the direction of liquid flow across the plate surface, the individual corrugations 2 extend in a zig-zag line across the plate and across the direction of flow. The corrugations 2 are preferably disposed, as shown, in groups of three contiguous corrugations, each group being separated from the next by flat plate portions 3 and certain of the individual corrugations 2, differing on adjacent plates, being extended into the flat portions 3, as indicated at 4, these extensions abutting flat portions 3 of adjacent plates to maintain the spacing thereof.
