Abstract

689,864. Cycle frames. SEBEL, H. Jan. 25, 1951, No. 1978/51. Class 136 (iii) A bicycle comprises a pair of vertically spaced frame members 5, 6, the saddle 14 being supported by the upper frame member 5. The members 5, 6 are doubled upon themselves at 5a, 6a and secured by welding to a front fork support 7. The rear ends of the members 5, 6 are welded to a pair of rear axle supporting plates 8. U-shaped brace members 12, 9 are provided on the member 5, 6 to support a saddle pillar 13 and a crankshaft 10 respectively. Outriders 17 such as described in Specification 689,859 are provided. The front fork 3 comprises an inverted U-shaped member 18 having its legs slotted to receive the front axle. The bridge portion and lugs 20 of the member 18 are welded to tubular members 21 which are curved at 28 to form handlebars. The support 7 has apertured plates to receive a bolt which passes through apertures 25 in the bridge portion of the member 18 and in a bracket 23 welded to the members 21. An aperture 26 is formed in the bracket 23 to receive a bell, lamp or similar accessory 27. Specification 674,919 also is referred to.
