Abstract

689,772. Steam superheaters. GENTZEL, P. H. Feb. 26, 1948 [July 31, 1939], No. 5822/48. Class 123 (iii) [Also in Group XXIX] The Specification describes arrangements of safety valves substantially as described in Specification 689,771. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91, comprises also an arrangement including a main valve B', Fig. 13 (cancelled) at the outlet 253<SP>I</SP> of a superheater. The valve B' may be opened directly by the pressure in the outlet 253<SP>I</SP> or indirectly by the pressure in the steam drum 250<SP>I</SP> under the control of a pilot safety valve A'. The valve B<SP>I</SP> may also be opened at any time by an independent source of pressure under the control of a solenoid operated valve energised by a switch 270. The main valve operating lever 258<SP>I</SP> may be actuated directly by a solenoid. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
