Abstract
688,254. Air-blast switches. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. July 13, 1951 [Aug. 5, 1950], No. 16636/51. Class 38 (v) [Also in Group XXIX] An outlet valve for an airblast switch comprises a supporting member or web 3 protruding from the outlet end of a "blow-out" or exhaust tube 1 and carrying a fixed piston or disc 8. A cylinder 5 slidable on the disc 8 is normally biased by a spring 7, so that an inturned flange 4 of the cylinder abuts the end of the tube to close the outlet. On the application of compressed air through a pipe 10, the cylinder 5 is forced down to move the flange 4 away from the end of the tube 1, so that air can rapidly escape through the tube 1, past the web 3 and out between the flange 4 and the end of the tube.
