Abstract
683,378. Furniture frames and combinations. LAMB, C. C. Sept. 14, 1951, No. 21635/51. Classes 52(ii) and 52(iii) A chair &c. which can be nested includes seat part or frame and rear and front legs the minimum distance between the rear legs being greater than the maximum width of the seat and front legs, secured or united to the seat front, having, at their upper parts, a distance between them less than the width of the seat and then outsplayed downwardly t h e lower parts being spaced apart a distance equal to or greater than the rear legs. Fig. 1 shows in tubular - metal the seat frame 1 joined to the rear legs 3 which are extended upwardly to form a back rest 4 while the front legs 2 .are formed of inverted Y form as continuations of the seat frame 1. In addition at each side an upwardly extending member 6 is secured to the lower part of the front legs 2 and is continued rearwardly to form an arm rest 7 or a support member 7b for a table frame 9, the parts 7, 7b being secured to the back rest 4 as shown to form a part thereof. Fig. 4 shows a chair formed from sheet metal or other sheet material, the parts being welded or otherwise secured together.
