Abstract

674,644. Root crop harvesters. LANZ AKT.-GES., H. Jan. 12, 1950 [Oct. 1, 1948], No. 816/50. Class 6(iii) A potato or beet harvesting machine, adapted to lift more than one row at a time, has a lifting share constituted by two half shares 15, 16 separated by a central slot 17, each half being sufficiently wide for lifting at least one row of crops. In the construction shown, the half shares extend forwardly from their outer sides to points 18, 19, and are fitted with supports 11, 12, which are secured by set scwers 13, 14 to the tubular beams 6, 7, of a carrier frame. This frame is pivoted on brackets 3, 4 of the machine frame 1 and can be raised or lowered. The roots and soil lifted by the shares are received by an elevator consisting of two endless chains interconnected by cross bars.
