Abstract
671,613. Golf-bags. GOWER, D. S. May 26, 1950 [July 1, 1949], No. 13377/50. Class 132 (ii). A support for a golf-bag comprises a head 1 having an arcuate part 1a for bolting to the top of the bag, a pair of legs 5 pivoted at 6 to the head and having their motion limited by elbow parts 5a engaging abutments 4a in the head and a longitudinal control leg 3 connected to the legs 5 by a U-shaped link 7, mounted in a bore 2 in the head 1 a compression spring being located within the leg 3 between the end of the bore 2 and the base of the link 7, and sliding in a loop 10 adapted to be bolted to the lower part of the bag. The arrangement is such that when the bag is set on the ground the control leg 3 splays out the legs 5 and when lifted, the spring in the bore 2 urges the legs 5 against the bag where they can be secured by a strap 15. The head 1 has a groove 14 acting as a cigarette rest and the leg 3 is fitted with a ferrule 13. The legs may be adjustable as to angle or length and can be telescopic or foldable.
