Abstract

1309181 Reamers FAGERSTA AB 17 May 1971 [3 June 1970] 15301/71 Heading B3C A reamer comprises a body 2 having a plurality of axial slots 21, regrindable cutting inserts 1 held in the slots by clamping screws 4, each slot being of a different depth, A, A-b, A-2b &c., the distance b being equal to the amount to be removed by sharpening an insert, so that when sharpening is required, the inserts are moved on to the next less deep slot, and only one new insert is required to be supplied at slot A. The inserts are located in the axial direction by a tapered surface 31 on a shaft 3 on which body 2 is shrunk. The slots 21 of varying depths may be arranged in any order.
