Classes 78 (iii) and 78 (iv), An accessory for use with a fork lift truck to facilitate loading goods onto pallets, comprises a pallet like structure A which is lifted by the normal lifting forks B<SP>1</SP> and supports a hook A<SP>2</SP> on its underside. A sling which is used in conjunction with this hook is normally stowed on the sunk upper surface C. which the signal applies with the arrow or other symbol made visible by light derived from the lamp or lamps of the signal and internally reflected within a plate of transparent material until deflected outwards by markings made on the surface of the plate and covering an area defining the arrow or other symbol. A position-light shunting signal with lamps 1, 2 or 1, 3 respectively lit to give the two signals, stop and clear, has beneath the casing thereof an angle-iron frame 9 carrying a slanting metal plate 10 forming a backing for a plate 11 of transparent plastic on the rear surface of which are cut or moulded grooves 18 covering an arrow-shaped area 17 and all the grooves being concentric with the lamp 1 which lies within a notch 13 of a triangular extension 12 of the plastic plate for the edge-on illumination of such plate. If the signal is carried on a gantry the plate may also have grooves cut on the front surface to deflect the light downwards so allowing the arrow or other symbol to be seen at a close-up position ; a cover glass is then fitted. The backing plate 10 may have a white arrow painted thereon or be provided with reflecting eyes over an area corresponding to the arrow.
