Abstract
805,429. Lift trucks. YALE & TOWNE MANUFACTURING CO. Sept. 5, 1956 No. 27127/56. Class 78 (3). In a masted lift truck the load carrier 26 can be pivoted about pins 23 on the lifting carriage 13 by an hydraulic thrustor 35, 36, and the fork 10, or other load-engaging member, is slidable along carrier 26 by a further thrustor 40, 40a. The piston-rod 36 which extends through both ends of cylinder 35, is anchored at its ends on brackets 37 secured to the lifting carriage, and pins 38, secured to opposite sides of the cylinder 35, engage slots 39 in a member 33 secured to the load carrier 26. The forks are secured to a plate 27 provided with a bracket 42 to which is secured the piston-rod 40a, and the cylinder 40 is attached to carrier 26 by a bracket 41. Bracket 42 extends through a horizontal slot in plate 26 which is enclosed by a half cylindrical plate 44 forming a protective cover for the thrustor 40, 40a.
