Abstract

653,671. Fusible cut-outs. DORMAN & SMITH, Ltd. July 8, 1948, No. 18363. [Class 38 (i)] In a fuse element of the kind comprising a strip of high-melting-point metal having a piece of lowmelting-point metal secured thereto, the piece of low-melting-point metal comprises a plug 7, Fig. 1, inserted in a hole in the element and its ends cold-riveted over. Two or more elements as in Fig. 1 may be joined together by the plug 1 and inserted in a cartridge 14, Fig. 3, the ends being separated and clamped between end caps 15, 16.
