Abstract

643,561. Fusible cut-outs. BELLING & LEE, Ltd. July 23, 1948, No. 19798. [Class 38 (i)] A fuse comprises spring members 12, 16 which lie within recess 8, 9 in the body 4 to hold the fusible element in tension so that when it fuses the members can project out of the body, the one to give an audible, and the other a visual warning. The fuse is provided preferably with two spring strips 12, 16 and each strip is secured to the body in one of the slots 8, 9 which are isolated from each other by barriers 10, 11 and extend around the periphery of the body. The element is attached to the ends 14, 17 of the strips which terminate at a bore 7 having ceramic liner 18 surrounding the element. A spring strip may be coloured to be easily seen.
