Abstract

648,077. Fusible cut-outs. BESWICK, K. E. Nov. 17, 1948, No. 29937. [Class 38 (i)] In a cartridge fuse comprising an insulating tube 10 having at each end an inner end cap 11A holding a fusible element 12 substantially central, outer end caps 14A, 14B are placed over said inner end caps and secured thereto by solder in their interiors. In manufacturing the fuse, the element is first soldered in holes in the inner end caps. Each outer cap is then heated to melt a piece of solder previously placed therein, whereupon an inner end cap is pushed into it, the solder forming a layer 15 between the caps.
