646,499. Preserving cooked food. SINGER FOOD PROCESS CORPORATION. Feb. 24, 1947, No. 5301. Convention date, Feb. 27, 1946. [Class 49] In preserving cooked food and preparing it for serving, the food is completely cooked and is sealed at its hot cooked temperature in containers of flexible, non- metallic material which is moisture- and air-proof, imparts no taste or odour to the food, and withstands the temperatures concerned in the process, e.g. the hot cooked food is placed (Figs. 2 and 3) in a bag of two sheets 2 of vegetable parchment supported in a cup 1 and the upper ends of the bag are brought together, twisted and encircled with a tie ring 4 of waxed cord which is then clipped at its ends with a metal clip 4a, the food in the containers is frozen, e.g. at a temperature of between 10‹F, and -20‹F, the containers are then maintained at a temperature not above 32‹F, depending on the nature of the food, and, when the food is required, the containers are immersed in boiling water.
