[Class 4] In a power-operated control system for aircraft, the control surface, e.g. aileron 27, is split into separate sections each actuated by a variablespeed power unit connected through a mechanical, hydraulic or electric link to the pilot's control member-10. Control unit.-A shaft 11 rotated by the pilot's control member 10 or the automatic pilot servomotor 14 drives four Selsyn transmitters 26 through gears 23, 24. The shaft is also connected through differential gear to a " feel-motor " 19 such as that described in Specification 619,987, or other selfcentring device.
