641,183. Fluid - tight ball - bearings. HOUGUE, M. Oct. 14, 1947, No. 27493. Corivention date, Dec. 6, 1946. [Class 12 (i)] In a water-tight bearing assembly for automobile &c. water-pumps comprising two ballbearings 3 housed in a sleeve 5 and spaced by a distance-ring 4, the seal comprises a joint 13, of, e.g., a fibrous material agglomerated with synthetic products, loaded by a spring 9 or rubber sleeve and rotating with the shaft 1, a joint 12, e.g. of graphite, in a bronze ring 10, and a washer 8, e.g. of lead. The other end of the sleeve 4 is closed by a joint 7 of, e.g., graphite treated felt, secured by a lock-nut 6 in the pump casing 17.
