[Class 122 (v)] A shaft packing comprises a sliding non- rotatable sleeve 6 carrying a pad of antifriction material 5, e.g. carbon or bronze, pressed'into contact with a collar 3 on the shaft by a spring 13 acting through a washer 11 and flexible packing 9. The packing 9 may be of rubber or the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Dexine " and may be in the form of a single or double cup packing.
