Abstract

630,326. Spray-producers. WITNEY, H. W. Nov. 26, 1946, No. 35091. [Class 69 (iii)] A spray gun for pulverulents has a ring of atomizing nozzles to provide an annular liquid spray surrounding the discharged pulverulent material. Two spray rings 10, 17, clamped to the hollow body, carry liquid nozzles 28, 29 and concentric air nozzles 25, 26, respectively. Annular ribs 4 ... 6 on the body and 11,12, on ring 17 seat against jointing washers in corresponding annular grooves in ring 10 to define a liquid supply channel 32, and air supply channels 16, 23. Liquid enters at 41 and is controlled by valve 40 and regulating valve 38. Air enters at 37 and is controlled by valve 36 and regulating valve 34. A branch 42, regulated by a valve 45, provides the air supply to the pulverulent material ejector. Valves 36 and 40 are actuated by cams 61, 62 on a pivoted hand lever 60 so that the air valve opens before, and closes after, the liquid valve.
