627,924. Fluid-actuated valves. MANLY CORPORATION. Aug. 6, 1947, No. 21380. Convention date, Sept. 6, 1940. [Class 135] [Also in Group XXVI] A sliding-vane pump has a control valve 164 to regulate the quantity of liquid under pressure passing along a pipe 63 or through a byepass 65 and comprises a piston 168 which is under pressure of the source 63 on a face 170 and a combined force of outlet pressure and a spring 176 on its opposite end. The outlet is cut-off when pressure in the pipe 63 falls and the valve, under spring pressure, moves to the right. In Fig. 10, high-pressure liquid from a pipe 83 enters a space 82 and passes to a space 86 by way of V-notches to a lessening degree as high pressure causes the valve 84 to move to the left. A further arrangement (Fig. 11, not shown), has high-pressure fluid liquid passing to a piston face on the right-hand end of the valve by way of V-notches and passages through the valve.
