[Class 44] A latch comprises a latch-bolt B housed in a die-cast casing A which is divided horizontally by a wall a<SP>3</SP> forming a guide for the bolt, one end of the wall being cut away to form a guide for an arcuate follower D adapted to enter a slot b<SP>2</SP> extending through the centre of the bolt, so that the latter is reversible for right or left hand operation. The latch is urged,outwardly by a spring b<SP>1</SP> located around a tail b. A tapped boss a<SP>1</SP> is formed on the wall a<SP>2</SP> to receive a screw securing a face-plate C forming one side of the casing.
