Abstract
617,377. Fusible cut-outs. CRAWFORD, J. Sept. 27, 1946, No. 28940. [Class 38 (i)] The end caps c of a cartridge fuse have detachable portions g which allow the fuse element or elements k and the silica or other arc-damping powder b to be renewed. The ends of the fuse elements may be soldered to internal flanges e of the caps c (as shown) or, alternatively, may be clamped between the flanges and conical projections (not shown) on the discs g. The discs may be circular and threaded into circular end caps or, as shown, secured by screws h in rectangular end caps with interposed asbestos pads j which are, however, dispensed with if the discs are formed with central projections for fixing to terminal blocks.
