[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, April 10, 1946.] [Class 80 (ii)] A change speed gear of the kind wherein a chain is displaced laterally on nested sprockets on the rear hub of a bicycle, has the support 39 for the shifting sprocket 54 suspended by two parallel connecting links 35, 36, of equal length and movable in a vertical plane perpendicular to the driving chain, from a bracket 30 attached to the rear fork F of the bicycle, the links are urged by a spring 40 to their limiting outer position and are moved therefrom by a flexible control cable C, the support 39 carrying a tension roller 56 and a chain guide 57 on an arm 52 pivoted on a spindle 51 and loaded by the spring 59.
