[Class 104 (ii)] A plate or pot sleeper 12, Fig. 4, has an upstanding lug or projection 13 to which the wooden tie-bar 14 is clamped. The clamp plate 16 is secured by a bolt 15 and may have its bottom edge interlocking in a recess 17 in the sleeper. The plate 16 may also have an upper limb 18 interlocking in a recess 19 in the lug 13. In a modification, an angular clamp plate is secured by end bolts, not passing through the tie-bar. As shown in Fig. 7, the plate 16 may have bent ends 21, 22, end 21 engaging the recess 17 and end 22 being engaged by the inclined head 23 of bolt 15 which is above the tie-bar. In another form, Fig. 9, the bolt 15 is diagonal and the clamp 24 engages one edge of the tie-bar, and the bolt head may be replaced by a cotter 25. Two tie-bars 14, Fig. 10, may be secured to a central lug 13, or one tie-bar secured between two lugs 13, 13a, Fig. 11, the bolt in this case carrying a wedge member 27 which engages the plate 16.
