[Class 4] In a three-engined aeroplane two of the engines are disposed at the front of the fuselage, preferably side by side and driving coaxial propellers at the nose of the fuselage, the third engine being disposed at the rear of the fuselage and driving a propeller at the tail thereof. As shown, the front engines 4, 5 are placed side by side and drive a contra-rotating propeller 7, 8 through gearing 6, and the rear engine 11 drives a single propeller 14 through gearing 13. Alternatively, the rear engine may drive a contra-rotating propeller.
