Abstract
601,969. Flushing valves. JACEK, P. Dec. 15, 1944, No. 25190. [Class 135] A flushing valve comprising an inlet 2 having a strainer 11 and an outlet 10 provided with a twisted plate 32 for imparting a swirling motion to the water, and having air passages 34, 33 for minimizing noise, has a valve member 8 attached to a spring-loaded plunger 6 dividing the interior of the valve casing into two chambers 4, 5. The lower chamber 4 is in direct communication with the inlet, whilst the upper chamber 5 is connected to the inlet through a narrow passage 13 incorporating an adjustable throttling member. A spring-loaded valvemember 18, seating in an apertured plate 17 and actuated by a push-button 29, between which and the stem of the valve member is interposed a rubber or leather sealing membrane 27, controls communication of the chamber 5 with the outlet through passages 23, 24, 25 whereby, on depression of the button 29 the pressure above the plunger 6 is released and the plunger is raised, to open the valve, by the pressure on the underside of the plunger. Specification 25349/01, [Class 135], is referred to.
