Abstract
600,885. Epicyclic gearing. CIGOGNA, F. Nov. 22, 1945, No. 31457. [Class 80 (i)] In epicyclic gearing, a ring 5, 6 eccentric to the common axis of the driving and driven shafts 2, 9, has two sets of internal teeth 7, 8, which mesh respectively with a fixed gear 7a and a gear 8a fixed to the driven shaft 9. Means carried by the driving shaft produces planetation of the ring 5, 6, so that the shaft 9 is driven at reduced speed. As applied to an electric motor, Fig. 3, the fixed gear 7a is mounted on the engine casing and the ring 5, 6 is mounted on an eccentric ball bearing to produce planetation.
