630,585. Crank-shafts. JAEGER MACHINE CO. April 16, 1947, No. 10082. Convention date, April 9, 1946. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVII] In a combined unit, the crankshafts 17, 25 of an internal-combustion engine and compressor are connected by fitting a reduced end 27 of the shaft 25 into a socket 22 on the end 20 of the shaft 17, the end 20 having a flywheel 28 bolted thereto, which drives the shaft 25 through studs 31 and a flange thereon. The flywheel 28 may be connected to the shaft 25 by internally and externally toothed rings, one of which is preferably made of fibre, and ball bearings may be provided at both ends of the shaft 25.
