597,641. Pivots. THOMPSON PRODUCTS, Inc. Oct. 26, 1944, No. 20866. Convention date, Oct. 30, 1943. [Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVI] Sealing means for a stud and socket joint between two members 11, 19, e.g. of a car tierod assembly, comprises a flexible element 26 secured at one end 28 to one member and having a ferrule 29 secured to its other end in sliding contact with the other member. A .washer 38 may be introduced between the ferrule and member 19 to reduce friction between the members. Bearing pressure is provided by a spring 36. The end 28 of the flexible element may be inserted in a groove in member 11 or clamped thereto by a metal bush loaded by the spring 36.
