Abstract

596,053. Vehicle wheels. RILEY, N. G. July 17, 1945, No. 18241. [Class 144 (i)] A wheel comprises a pair of discs 2 formed with flanged rim-portions 1 to receive a pneumatic &c. tyre which are secured together, and to the hub 3, at the centre (as by bolts 4), the outer portions of the discs being free to splay apart under load shocks. As shown, the separation of the discs may be controlled by stop-bolts 5 fitted with springs 6. In a modification (not shown), the centre portion of the wheel may be seated in a rubber cushion fitted between the hub-flange and an outer clamping plate.
