[Class 44] A hose clamp comprises a flexible sheetmetal strap 2 wrapped near one end round a trunnion 6 with the free end 4 underneath and formed near the other end with a loop 15 over which a slotted cylinder 13 forming the head of a draw bolt 12 is slipped, a rivet 16 being then inserted in the loop to prevent it from collapsing. The band is of somewhat greater width where passing round the trunnion and is provided with a slot at this point, the draw bolt passing through the slot and through an aperture in the trunnion. Extending from the trunnion is a guide 8, the trunnion and guide being split and held closed by a cap 9 through which the draw bolt passes for engagement with a tightening nut 11. The loop 3 around the trunnion may be of greater diameter than the loop 15 so that the draw bolt is inclined to the tangents at and between the corresponding points of the hose. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a hose-clamp in which the draw bolt has a tee-head round which is wrapped the corresponding end of the strap a second slot being formed at this end and the strap being of uniform width. The trunnion is bent up from a metal stamping of cruciform shape having a central aperture. A pressuredistributing strip is mounted beneath the strap in and somewhat beyond the sector between the bolt head and trunnion. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
