Abstract

764,643. Barrel clips. JAMIE, R. C. S., and HUNT & TURNER, Ltd. Feb. 9, 1955, No. 3812/55. Class 44. In a hose clip of the kind which is adapted to be tightened or slackened about a coupling by adjusting a screw 3 interconnecting a pair of lugs 2, 6, the screw being threaded through a nut 7 abutting against one of the lugs 6, the nut is provided with an associated eyelet 8 formed as a 'separate member and having a flanged part 9 to abut against the nut and a tubular part 10 to pass through the hole in the lug and to prevent the sharp edge of the hole contacting and damaging the thread of the screw. In the construction shown, the clip comprises a wire ring 1 having a loop at one end which forms the lug 2 and with a bridging member 5 hinged to the other end of the ring. The bridging member 5 has a portion forming the lug 6. The tubular part of the eyelet after being passed through the hole in the lug 6 is swaged as shown at 11. Instead of using a wire ring 1 a band of metal strip may be used. Specifications 705,247 and 745,888 are referred to.
